September in Italy - Bassano here we come

Bassano de Grappa, Italy

Bassano feels like the twin town of Algodonales, popular with pilots worldwide, good infrastructure and great weather. we came here years go whilst on holiday and have enjoyed coming back every summer for some beautiful Italian flying. Our first paragliding tour here was two years ago and we've been chased to run more trips here.

The local club infrastructure

The local club have a flycard system for visiting pilots which has ensured the area is well versed in weather stations, well set out and organised landing fields. We've flown 6 out of 6 days this year with a group of 7 pilots, two guides and a driver on hand for retrieve. We've had so many personal bests and its been a great introduction for some flying in the mountains in front of the famous Dolomites. Fundamentally a big 800 meter ridge running 30 k in each direction with some transitions offering much bigger tasks, plus by afternoon there is a great flatland opportunity for making peachy triangles.

Accomodation

Although we don't have the same option as in Algodonales,  there are a vast selection in Borso de grappa to suit almost every budget as well as campsite options for Rv's. Theres a rack of restaurants and bars all within a 5 - ten minute walk plus we've organised a couple of jollies into Bassano and further afield. 

What pilot does the tour suit

You can see by the photos how stunning the are is, the launches are easy, conditions can be fairly smooth early and late with some nice restitutional evening flying. If you had some thermalling practise with us previously then you’ll love this. We have had a mix low airtime and some seasoned pilots this year. If in doubt just ask.
