It is not all about the flying here in Southern Spain
Unfortunately, not every day in Algodonales is a perfect day for flying and sometimes we just fancy other things to do. Thankfully Algodonales does not disappoint. One big outdoor playground with so much to offer. Being in Spain you could always lay by the pool drinking cervezas, but here is FlySpain’s top five things to do in Algodonales:
Bird of Prey Experience & Parahawking
Our number one suggestions, of course, a Bird of Prey Experience with Skywings Falconry. Flying here in Algodonales, we are lucky enough to share the sky with huge vultures. These are the real masters of the skies. To see these amazing birds up close, get to interact with them and learn about them is fantastic. That’s why it makes top of our list!
E-Bike Tours
Rutabici is a local company offering E-Bike rentals and guided tours around the beautiful Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. The electric bikes are great as they really help you up those difficult bits and let you cover a surprising amount of distance.
Kayaking, Paddle Boarding or swimming in Lake Zahara
Lake Zahara is a great way to escape the heat of the day, especially on those hot seistas. There are a number of companies, such as Discovery, to rent kayaks, paddleboards or simple just go for a dip.
Trekking
The mountains in Southern Spain, particularly in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, are breath taking and offer a lot of spectacular views. There are many great walks for all levels and are a great way to spend a few hours followed by tapas and some of the locally produced vino in one of the many picturesque villages that dot this region.
Horseback Riding
The Spanish love their horses and horseback riding is very popular. Perhaps if trekking or cycling through this beautiful landscape is not for you, a spot of horse riding might do. You can even go on a horseback tour of local wineries. Highly recommended.
