British Paragliding team wins big at European championships held In Pegalajar
Europeans Championships
Late May saw the arrival of 140 pilots and over 60 paragliding teams competing in the bi annul European Paragliding championships.
The Event
The Event was held over 12 days, they flew big tasks over all ten days with one rest day after Day 5, Daily tasks were between 80 and 140 kilometres. Competitors flew 40 hours over the competition and flew over a 1000 kilometres in distance.
Pegalajar is putting itself firmly on the map as a world class flying destination... offering stunning flying in a world class location, the president of the Fia remarked that it was one of the best events they had ever hosted with great live tracking and commentary.
Dylan Mansley integral part of British scoring team and very popular by also being the youngest competitor in the competition.
Each team is made of a squad of 6 pilots, 3 of which are the scoring pilots, Dylan, Seb Ospina and Martin Long made up the chief scorers.
Seb Ospina made second place overall in a highly fought and compelling competition boasting some of the best and the British team were crowned Team winners over the ten tasks. Hotly pursed by the dominant French, Portuguese and Slovenian Teams
Whats next you ask, well theres another PWC in El Yelmo in Andalucia in end of June. Then the Junior World Paragliding World cup in Slovenia In August, then the British chmpionships in Saint Andre in September.
