A Journey of Dedication and Hard Work
The journey to the World Cup podium is never an easy one. It requires countless hours of training, unwavering determination, and a deep love for the sport. Our son and his instructor have embodied these qualities from the start. Their journey began several years ago, marked by early mornings, late evenings, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
From the rolling hills of our hometown to the majestic landscapes of El Yelmo, their training sessions were characterized by rigorous practice and a steadfast commitment to improvement. Their synergy as a team grew stronger with each flight, their bond built on mutual respect and a shared goal.
The Competition
The Paragliding World Cup in El Yelmo is a gathering of the world’s most elite pilots, each showcasing their prowess in navigating the skies with precision and grace. This year’s event was particularly challenging, with weather conditions testing even the most seasoned competitors. Yet, our team remained undeterred. The first task was 145 k task, but the 3 ghr retrieve at the end of the first day , ensured a slightly shorter task of 85 k the seocnd and third days.
Their performance throughout the competition was nothing short of spectacular. They demonstrated not only technical skill but also strategic acumen, making critical decisions in real-time that ultimately led them to a well-deserved third-place finish. Their ability to stay composed under pressure was a testament to their preparation and mental fortitude.

Let this success story be a reminder to all aspiring athletes: with hard work and the right support, the sky is not the limit – it’s just the beginning. If you are instrerested in getting involved inparagliding competiotions, start by nequiring with your local club. In the Uk they have the British nationals, and in Europes there a handful of begginer friendly competions like the Ozone Chabre Open and the Gin Wide Open. Its maybe be best to cut your teeth there before moving onto the SRS comp circuit and National events.
Later this month both lads will be competing in the Spanish nationals. Then later in August they have the Junior Paragliding World Cup followed by The British Championships. Again all of us that that work with Dylan and Marcelo are super proud to support both pilots and look forward to see them on many more podiums in the near future.
